The origins

Who we are

The Camden Multicultural Community (CMC) Centre is a vibrant community-based organization situated in the heart of Somers Town, London Borough of Camden, in North West London. Our aim is to improve the quality of life for the local communities by providing a range of services and activities that cater to the diverse needs and interests of the people who live here.

Our Goals

At CMC, we believe that every individual has the right to access quality education, healthcare, and employment opportunities, regardless of their social, cultural, or economic background. To achieve this goal, we have designed a range of programs and initiatives that are aimed at empowering local communities and promoting social cohesion.

Mentoring our youth

One of our core areas of focus is education. We offer a wide range of Community Languages Classes, Tuition & Homework Support services to help children and young people achieve their full potential. Our highly qualified and experienced tutors provide tailored support to students of all ages and abilities, helping them to develop the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.

In addition to education, we also provide a range of sports and outdoor activities to promote health and wellbeing. Our programs include football, cricket, boxing, and many other outdoor activities that encourage physical fitness and mental wellbeing.

Training and support

At CMC, we understand that many people in our community face barriers to employment and training opportunities. That's why we offer training and employment support programs to help people develop the skills and knowledge they need to secure sustainable employment. Our programs include vocational training, job search support, and mentoring programs, which help people to build confidence, self-esteem, and resilience.

Community Events

Community events are also a significant part of what we do at CMC. We organize regular community events, such as Supper Club, Women Social Club, and various social activities, which bring people from different backgrounds together to celebrate our diverse culture and heritage. We also provide various volunteering opportunities for those who want to get involved in our community work.

Social Enterprise Model

Our social enterprise model means that we generate income through conference and meeting room hire, providing low-cost Tuitions & Homework support and various Language courses, and fundraising in various community events & activities. This enables us to fund our much-needed community work and support those who need our help the most.

In summary, the CMC Centre is a vital resource for the local community, offering a range of services and activities that help to promote social cohesion, improve educational outcomes, and provide employment and training opportunities. We are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of local people, and we welcome anyone who wants to get involved and support our work.
